Keren Ilan – A Personal Journey

Keren Ilan sometimes feels like she’s floating between worlds. Adopted from Southeast Asia and raised in the Middle East, her search for identity and belonging is a constant thread in her writing.
Though English isn’t her first language, she finds comfort in expressing herself through it, creating enough distance to feel exposed but not too vulnerable.

This sense of not belonging to one place has allowed Keren to create music that feels international and borderless. She’s part of the trio TomorrowWhen, based in Berlin, where the group explores new sounds and directions. She also has a Hebrew duet project that brings her back to her roots, where she can reconnect with the place she calls home.

Over the past three years, Keren has toured across Israel, Europe and The United Stats.
